Pemba: Two children found dead after heavy rains

Due to the heavy rains recorded in the city of Pemba since the early hours of Friday, March 13 of the current year, two children were found dead from drowning in the neighborhood of Cariacó.

The children drowned in a pit that had been dug in the yard of their residence. The pit had been opened for the construction of a cistern. The victims were less than five years old.

There were also reports of the destruction of some houses and yards due to garbage deposited in areas considered drainage channels in the neighborhoods of Natite, in the Namavi area, Liose, Noviani and Chibuabuari. (Abel Buruhane)
