Deaths in the farmlands of Muidumbe and Mueda districts

The movement of armed men in the districts of Muidumbe and Mueda, especially in the farmlands of the villages of Lyauta, Mpeme, and Ntuchi, is causing deep concern among the population.

Three days ago, according to information from some sources, more than 10 people were beheaded in the farmlands of the aforementioned villages. Among the victims are people from the village of Mpeme in Mueda district, and others from the villages of Lyauta and Ntuchi in Muidumbe district.

On November 3, 2026, in the same area, two people were killed by armed men. There are also unconfirmed reports that the death toll may be higher than two. So far, Mozanorte has not confirmed this information with other sources.

These are days marked by fear and insecurity. Many people are already abandoning their farmlands due to the situation. In addition to the villages mentioned in the first paragraph, Muatide is also one of the localities that have been targeted by attacks over the last two weeks.

Meanwhile, the movement of armed men in that region continues. Faced with this situation, the population is appealing to the Government to take urgent measures to put an end to these killings. Day and night, residents are forced to move from place to place in search of safe locations.

The farmlands were once considered places of refuge for the population. However, armed men have begun kidnapping, beheading, and killing people precisely in these places, which were previously viewed as safe spaces. (BP)
