By April 30, the Cabo Delgado government claims it will have the
necessary conditions to carry out, without excuses, several actions in favor of
the population, which, in addition to the recent cyclone phenomenon, faces the
challenge of terrorism.
Thus, the Provincial Executive Council of Cabo Delgado, meeting on
Tuesday, February 5, 2025, in its first Ordinary Session in the city of Pemba,
will carry out the following:
The distribution of 13.5 tons of improved seeds for the current
agricultural campaign, the acquisition and allocation of 79 motor pumps for the
districts of Nanagde, Meluco, Mueda, Balama, Ancuabe, Namuno, Metuge, Chiúre,
and Mecúfi.
It will complete the construction of the drip irrigation system in Nicuapa,
in the Montepuez District.
In the fisheries sector, 200 fish conservation kits, including cool
boxes, freezers, and scales, will be allocated to fishermen, with 100 kits for
the district of Quissanga and another 100 for Macomia.
In the same area, fishermen in the districts of Pemba, Quissanga, and
Macomia will benefit from 40 outboard motors, 70 fishing boats, and 200 fishing
nets.
In the health sector, with a focus on the prevention and fight against
malaria, one of the diseases responsible for hospitalizations in healthcare
units, the health authorities in the province will distribute a total of
1,771,400 insecticide-treated mosquito nets. The population affected by Cyclone
Chido will continue to receive the necessary assistance.
As promised on the day of his inauguration, the governor, according to
the statement issued, did not advance concrete actions to end terrorism. No
concrete actions were presented to alleviate the cost of transportation and
living in the province of Cabo Delgado.
