What is known about the Terrorist Attacks in Muidumbe? Five beheaded and dozens of homes burned in Mapate

At least five Mozambican citizens were brutally beheaded and two others shot in a recent terrorist attack in the village of Mapate, located in the Muidumbe district of Cabo Delgado province.

The attack, attributed to armed groups that have been sowing terror in northern Mozambique, also led to the destruction of 18 homes, which were set on fire during the raid.

Local sources confirmed that the attackers looted food supplies belonging to residents, further worsening the ongoing humanitarian crisis in the region.

As a result of the violence, around 500 residents were forced to flee their homes and seek refuge in safer areas, with many finding shelter in the town of Mueda, according to (Mozanorte)
