Bank of Mozambique trains journalists in Cabo Delgado

On the 15th and 16th of the current month of 2026, a training session was held for journalists in Cabo Delgado, covering topics related to the functioning of the foreign exchange market and the sovereign wealth fund. The seminar aimed to equip journalists with tools to better understand these subjects and report on them more accurately.

At the closing ceremony, the Director of the Pemba Branch of the Bank of Mozambique, António Jossefa, expressed confidence that the knowledge gained over the two days would improve the quality of journalism in the economic and financial sectors, while also encouraging continued interest in matters related to the Bank of Mozambique.

He also urged participants to share the knowledge acquired with colleagues who were unable to attend for various reasons.

Meanwhile, Amélia Bilalal from Rádio Wimbe praised the Bank of Mozambique’s initiative in sharing this knowledge, stating that, as a woman, she intends to pass on what she learned to other women from different fields.

Maria Abubacar Artur from the newspaper Pemba Oye said she leaves the training better equipped, emphasizing that the more prepared a journalist is, the better the dissemination of information with proper understanding. (Maria Forquilha)
