Cases of fainting in schools worsen and spread to neighborhoods in Macomia District

On Sunday morning, four (4) female adolescents in Macomia District, in the Napulobo neighborhood, in Cabo Delgado, experienced another fainting episode, but this time at home, and shortly afterward began following one another.

The girls, who live in different areas, during the episode, in a strangely possessed manner, tried to find each other. After meeting, they headed to the Napulobo Primary and Annex School, while their family members, in total distress, followed them to prevent them from doing anything dangerous.

Upon arriving at the school, they remained there, claiming that what was calling them was there, at the school, and that it was buried.

Meanwhile, a witness, Dora Luís, a resident of the neighborhood, said: “It is the first time these students have had this kind of episode and gathered to come here to this school and say all these things.

On other occasions, they would just faint; after waking up, they would feel tired and be taken home. But today I can see this is a new phase because when people tried to stop them, they shook them off and even attacked them.”

Residents and relatives of the girls say they will return on Monday to seek further clarification from the school principal about what the girls reported. (Sifa Artur)
