Muidumbe,
June 18, 2025 – The district headquarters of Muidumbe, in Namacande,
experienced moments of tension this Wednesday morning (June 18) after gunfire erupted inside a local military position. The incident caused panic among
residents, leading some families to flee precipitately.
According to a source
on site, the shooting did not involve insurgents or external elements, but
rather resulted from a disagreement among the soldiers
stationed at the position.
"There were shots fired inside the barracks, and this caused a lot of
confusion among the population, who thought it was another armed attack,"
the source explained.
The fear was so
intense that several people abandoned their homes, some taking luggage and
personal belongings with them. However, within a few hours, the situation returned
to normal when it was confirmed that the incident was confined to the military base and posed no external
threat to the community. Mozanorte
