A group of armed operatives affiliated with a non-state armed group passed between Silva Macua and Metoro in Ancuabe, Cabo Delgafo province on the morning of Monday, the 17th, without causing any harm to the local population.
According to residents, the
men armed with rifles and machetes moved calmly through the area and crossed
the National Road N1, the main way of Mozambique
An NGO reported that,
despite initial tension caused by their presence, there were no recorded
confrontations, looting, or any other violent actions during their passage.
Local authorities have not
yet issued an official statement on the incident but the administrator of Ancuabe
confirmed that forces have been in movement since Sunday chasing terrorist
