Despite the uncertainty caused by alarmist messages, healthcare services in Mocímboa da Praia remain operational. This was the main finding shared on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, by the District Administrator, Sérgio Domingos Cipriano, during a working visit to the rural hospital.
On the ground, the official spoke with on-duty staff and assessed the functioning of the health facility, confirming that all units continue to serve the population except for the Naduadua Health Centre, located on the outskirts of the district headquarters, which is temporarily closed.
According to staff reports, the temporary departure of some workers due to security concerns has led to an operational overload, with those remaining on duty taking on double or even triple shifts, demonstrating a high level of commitment.
The District Administrator acknowledged the effort of the health professionals and praised their patriotic stance during such a challenging time. “You are keeping hope and public trust alive. Your dedication to public service, even under adverse conditions, is a true example of courage and commitment,” he stated.
During the visit, Sérgio Domingos Cipriano was accompanied by the District Commander of the PRM (Republic of Mozambique Police) and Coordinator of the Defense and Security Forces, Alberto Elias Napovo. Together, they discussed the enemy’s new psychological tactics, which aim to destabilize the town through the spread of rumors and fear.
Also present in the delegation were the President of the Municipal Council, Helena Bandeira, and members of the District Government, who reaffirmed the authorities' commitment to ensuring security, stability, and the normal functioning of public services, according to an official statement from the District Government (Mozanorte).
