Violent home invasion leaves shopkeeper injured in Quilaua Neighborhood, Palma

A local shopkeeper was the target of a violent home invasion on Monday night in the Quilaua neighborhood, in the district of Palma, according to multiple local sources.

According to preliminary information, four assailants armed with machetes broke into the victim’s house, taking him by surprise and stealing an undetermined amount of money. During the attack, the shopkeeper sustained injuries to his arms and hands while attempting to defend himself.

Local authorities were alerted after the assailants fled and have already begun efforts to identify and apprehend those responsible. The victim received medical attention and is currently out of danger.

Residents of the neighborhood have expressed growing concern over the increase in crimes of this nature and are calling for greater police presence in the area. (Mozanorte)
