For the past five days, residents of the Namania area, in Chiúre district, have continued to live in fear and insecurity due to terrorist attacks that affected the region.
According to residents of Namania village, from Friday, May 8, until May 12, the population has not lived in peace because of insurgents disturbing the area.
“We are afraid in the villages of Namicoco, Nacupe, Namania and Cumumule because the insurgents move around mostly during the night,” they said.
The residents also explained that, on the night of May 11, the attackers burned shelters built by farmers in their fields.
Meanwhile, students in the area have stopped attending classes because of the insecurity situation, and teachers have also abandoned the villages.
It should be noted that, at Namania Primary School, students were unable to take the Partial Assessment (AP) for the term due to the instability in the region. (Abel Buruhane)
