The District Service of Health, Woman, and Social Action of Lago held a lecture this Tuesday in Metangula focusing on breast and cervical cancer as part of Pink October, under the motto "Know to prevent and prevent to live."
The session was led by the District Permanent Secretary, Tristeza Bonomar, and was attended by the Director of the Health District Service and the District Chief Medical Officer, who guided the presentation.
The Chief Medical Officer warned about warning signs and called for regular screening and breast self-exams. Participants advocated for the continuation of these actions within communities.
A breast cancer survivor shared her testimony of overcoming the disease. The activity concluded with the cutting of a commemorative cake and a cultural performance by the artist Ramadane. (By Farnasia Faustino)
