Fear is still prevalent amid a growing trend of criminal
actions against individuals allegedly successful in life.
For example, on January 24, a group of five individuals
armed with machetes and knives broke into the home of a Mozambican employee of
a Non-Governmental Organization, residing in the Alto Gingone neighborhood.
According to reports given to Mozanorte, the criminals,
whose nationality is unknown, thoroughly searched the house for something, but
it is unclear whether they found anything.
The reports state that the criminals left the house without
stealing any other belongings or injuring anyone among the hostages.
Such situations tend to be recurring in a city where many
displaced families, victims of terrorist actions, live, thus increasing the
