They
did not attack, but were seen between Unguia and Muaguide, Meluco district,
Cabo Delgado province, northern of Mozambique by a group of monkey hunters, who
fled when called, so they are circulating in that area.
On
the afternoon of Friday, February 14, some villages in the district of Meluco,
considered a sanctuary of flora, experienced fear and panic after reports of
terrorist activity, particularly in the area between the village of Unguia and
the administrative center of Muaguide.
According
to reports obtained by Mozanorte, the villages of Muaguide, Unguia, Mitambo,
and 19 de Outubro (the latter in the district of Quissanga) went into panic due
to the situation.
Informants
indicated that a large group of terrorists was allegedly seen by a group of
hunters who were moving between the villages of Muaguide and Unguia, prompting
them to immediately return to their homes in Unguia and report what had
happened.
The
presence of terrorists in Meluco is not a new situation in recent days, with
incursions in Ravia, Ncoripo, and creating fearful situations in the district
headquarters and the village of Minhanha. (Mozanorte)
