At around 2 a.m. on May 3,
2025, the village of Ntotwe, in the Mocímboa da Praia district, in Cabo Delgado
province was invaded by terrorists.
Unlike the brutal attacks
that have previously claimed lives in the region, this time there were no
deaths. The Al-Shabab militants entered the village and stole food.
During their brief stay,
they looted goods, destroyed stalls, and searched around 50 homes, leaving the
community helpless and in shock.
According to reports, this
occurred just after local traders, hoping to rebuild their lives, had restocked
their stalls—only to see almost everything taken away.
Mozanorte's reporter has
learned that there are reports of a 13-year-old girl being abducted by the
terrorists—an act that adds to the family's suffering.

prevents “100-Day March”
As the FRELIMO party
headquarters was mobilizing its members for a commemorative march, the event
had to be canceled due to the insecurity caused by the Ntotwe attack.
"It wasn't possible to
march or celebrate while our brothers are crying," said one of the
participants.
This is the second attack on
Ntotwe village in less than a month, with the previous one recorded on April 7,
during which a local primary school teacher was killed. (Mozanorte)
