A night of socializing among friends ended in mourning in the Mirige neighborhood, on the outskirts of Montepuez, in south of Cabo Delgado, last Monday, December 8.
A source said that there was a heated argument, allegedly under the strong influence of alcohol, which resulted in the death of a 40-year-old man.
This is not merely a serious violation of the right to life; the victim was not just any man, but a father and head of a household, even though he had been drinking alcohol. The victim, identified as Agostinho Saíde, was the father of four children.
The cause of death was a blow to the head with a construction block, delivered by his friend who is already in police custody after a disagreement. The incident occurred during a drinking session in which tempers flared. (Mozanorte)
