At least five Chinese nationals are facing authorities in Nampula Province, accused of engaging in illegal mining activities, in addition to document forgery. According to the authorities, the individuals were carrying out these activities in a community in the district of Murrupula.
The authorities have expressed concern over the direct involvement of foreigners in such acts, particularly as, in addition to the Chinese nationals, one Somali, two Malians and one Portuguese citizen have also been detained, according to the spokesperson of the National Migration Service (SENAMI) in Nampula, Nércia Nota.
She stated that migration authorities suspect the existence of an illegal network operating outside the law to produce forged documents for foreign citizens.
The same source assured that one of the procedures to be undertaken is the repatriation of the foreign nationals to their countries of origin. (Mozanorte)
