Relations between Rwanda’s Defence and Security Forces and the people of Palma gained another chapter on Tuesday, marked by solidarity and closer community engagement.
Palma Secondary School was the venue for an initiative that brought satisfaction to students: the donation of various educational and sports materials by Rwanda’s security forces.
Books covering different secondary school subjects, for both the first and second cycles, were donated alongside football boots, sports equipment and balls, creating new opportunities for students both inside and outside the classroom.
More than just material goods, the donations represent tools that can support students in their learning process while also encouraging participation in school sports.
During the handover ceremony, Alex Ndayisenga, a representative of the Community Policing Unit of Rwanda’s Security Forces, explained that the initiative is part of efforts to strengthen relations between the security forces and the community.
According to Ndayisenga, the relationship developed with the people of Palma has been positive, stressing the intention to continue working in coordination with local authorities and Mozambique’s Defence and Security Forces.
For the students, the arrival of the materials was warmly welcomed. From books that can support their studies to equipment that will help boost sporting activities, the students acknowledged the importance of the initiative to school life.
As a sign of responsibility, the students pledged to take good care of the donated materials and use them appropriately so that they can continue to benefit other students in the future. (MOZANORTE)
