150 People Discuss Fishing on the Island of Mozambique

From 9:00 AM to 4:50 PM on February 28, a multi-sector workshop was held on the Island of Mozambique, in Nampula province in northern of Mozambique organized by the Provincial Fisheries Administration.

The event was held under the theme "Framework for Local Initiative Fisheries Management Plans."

The workshop was attended by around 150 people of both genders, representing various sectors including the Coastal, Lacustrine, and Riverine Police, ADMAR, INTRANSMAR, Unilúrio, the Municipality, Unirovuma, Economic Agents (companies operating at sea), partners, and Community Fisheries Committees from the two districts, Island of Mozambique and Mossuril.

The meeting was primarily intended for institutions and representatives of communities who rely on the sea for income, livelihood, and other responsible activities.

The CCPs and partners from the Mossuril district who attended the meeting will share the information or message with other institutions that were not present through lectures. (BP)
