The recent heavy rains have significantly worsened the condition of access roads in the district of Mecúfi in Cabo Delgado province.
A journey from Mecúfi to the city of Pemba a mere 50 km now takes approximately six hours due to the deteriorated state of the road. This situation is disheartening and discourages any travel.
Passengers are often compelled to walk
through deep mud over considerable distances because vehicles become stuck
