Rwandans reportedly killed in ambush in Mocimboa da Praia district

A group of Rwandan soldiers engaged in counter-terrorism operations in Cabo Delgado fell into an ambush by Al-Shabaab militants on May 3rd, resulting in the deaths of at least three soldiers on the spot.

During the same incident, nine others reportedly sustained both minor and serious injuries and are currently receiving intensive care.

This information comes from propaganda channels associated with the Islamic State, which released a message on Saturday confirming the incident along with photographs taken at the scene in the Ntotwe area of Mocímboa da Praia district.

"By the grace of ALLAH Almighty, the soldiers of the KHILAFAH attacked a patrol of the Rwandan crusader army in the village of (Ntotwe), in the area of (Mocímboa da Praia) in (Cabo Delgado), with machine guns, leading to the death of three members, injuring others, and seizing two rifles, praise be to God," reads a message originally published in Arabic.
