The Maternity Ward
and Primary School in the Muxara community, Pemba Municipality, are now
benefiting from clean and reliable energy
thanks to the installation of solar photovoltaic systems.
The official
inauguration took place on Thursday, June 5. This initiative is part of an
ongoing effort to improve the quality of life for the population and boost
sustainable development in areas with limited access to the national power
grid.
The installation of
these solar systems ensures continuous electricity for over
10,500 residents of
the community, directly impacting essential sectors like health and education.
At the maternity
ward, the availability of power will allow for greater
safety during nighttime deliveries, ensuring adequate lighting
and the constant operation of vital medical equipment.
At the Muxara Primary
School, electrification enables night classes, creating new learning opportunities
for students and adults who cannot attend school during the day. Furthermore,
it contributes to digital inclusion
by allowing the use of educational technologies in the school environment.
During the
inauguration ceremony, Satar Abdulgani, the mayor of Pemba, highlighted the
importance of investing in renewable energy as a strategic solution for local
development.
"These
infrastructures are more than just buildings; they are instruments of social transformation. We are ensuring a future with more dignity, health, and education
for all," stated the mayor. MOZANORTE
