The Government of Sanga District, in the northern part of Niassa Province, has delivered 49 corrugated zinc sheets aimed at improving teaching and learning conditions in the Cazizi community and at the 4th of October Secondary School of Malulu, in the Administrative Post of Unango.
Of the total number of sheets delivered, 30 were allocated to the Cazizi community, specifically to the local Primary School, while 19 zinc sheets were destined for the 4th of October Secondary School of Malulu, whose classrooms suffered partial destruction as a result of heavy rains accompanied by strong winds recorded this month of January.
The handover was led by the District Administrator of Sanga, Catija Afonso, and forms part of the response to concerns raised by the community during a visit carried out in November 2025, within the framework of open and inclusive governance, as well as the urgent need to restore the roofing of the affected classrooms.
Speaking on the occasion, the District Administrator appealed to parents and guardians, as well as the community at large, to join efforts for the common good, stressing that available community funds can also be applied to improving the conditions of the Teaching and Learning Process (TLP), ensuring safer and more adequate school environments.
The Cazizi community expressed satisfaction and gratitude for the gesture by the Government of Sanga District, highlighting the commitment of Administrator Catija Afonso in addressing one of the major local concerns.
In return, the community committed itself to contributing with labor and other resources towards the improvement of classrooms at the Primary School.
With the partial replacement of roofing sheets in the two classrooms of the 4th of October Secondary School of Malulu, the difficulties faced by more than 500 studentsfrom Grade 7 to Grade 12 within the National Education System have been minimized. (Má Mataka)
