After the
damage caused by the recent cyclone, the Chuiba Health Center in the city of
Pemba, Cabo Delgado province in north of Mozambique has started rehabilitation
work, with a focus on installing paving in the center’s corridors.
This is an
important step in improving the center's infrastructure, which, despite the
challenges faced, continues to provide services to the population.
The
rehabilitation includes significant improvements, such as paving all the
corridors, marking a substantial advancement for the facility.
However,
there are still areas that need attention, such as rooms and sections that
remain without ceilings, as well as improvised tents, like those in the
observation and treatment rooms, which were set up with the support of the
World Health Organization (WHO).
Although
the center's infrastructure still has gaps, the professional team has never
stopped attending to patients, offering essential services during this
transitional period.
The local
community celebrates this effort, which represents a milestone in the recovery
process of the city of Pemba and other neighborhoods affected by the cyclone,
showing resilience and a commitment to public health in the region. (Sifa Artur)
