Population of Quissanga lives in fear of elephants and agricultural loss

The population of Quissanga district in Cabo Delgado province continues to live in fear due to the constant presence of elephants, increasing the likelihood of low production and, consequently, hunger.

According to information gathered by Mozanorte, wild animals persist in destroying crops, causing significant damage to the fields.

Residents of the localities of Nacoba and Arimba, for example, say they lack the necessary means to deal with these large animals, known for their destructive capacity.

On Monday (14th), around 4 p.m., a young man traveling between Arimba and Nacoba encountered a group of elephants on the road and nearly fell off his motorcycle.

According to his account, the animals did not harm him and went off into another forested area.

The presence of elephants is having a major negative impact on agricultural production, contributing to the already low productivity recorded this year. (Seven Mussa)
