The districts of Ancuabe and Chiúre are among several areas in Cabo Delgado that will benefit from support from the United Kingdom, valued at approximately 1.88 million meticais.
According to Helen Lewis, the United Kingdom is working in partnership with the United Nations and local organizations to strengthen stability in Cabo Delgado by providing humanitarian assistance, creating employment opportunities for young people, and supplying food, water, sanitation services, and shelter.
To support these efforts, the UK government has committed around £22 million, equivalent to approximately 1.88 billion meticais, for humanitarian assistance in Mozambique, particularly in Cabo Delgado. The funding aims to support vulnerable communities, especially those living in remote areas and regions rich in mineral resources that have been affected by terrorism in recent years.
Helen Lewis, the British High Commissioner to Mozambique, reaffirmed the United Kingdom’s commitment to supporting the country. She stated that Mozambique can continue to count on the UK, which will maintain its humanitarian assistance and efforts to promote stability in Cabo Delgado Province. (Sifa Artur)
