The alleged misconduct of the local force in the neighborhoods of Mocímboa da Praia, particularly in Milamba, continues to draw criticism amid persistent accusations that members of the local force assault and extort residents under the cover of darkness.
The situation has prompted residents to speak out against these actions, while, according to the community, the authorities have remained silent in the face of alleged human rights violations in that Cabo Delgado area.
Residents argue that, as members of the local community, the local force should not behave more brutally in the performance of their duties than members of the Defence and Security Forces (FDS), many of whom come from other parts of the country.
Even so, the residents continue to call for the intervention of the district administrator. However, they believe that he has not demonstrated effective leadership, particularly in dealing with matters involving the Defence and Security Forces. (MozaNorte)
