Cabo Delgado: Motorcycle accident at Gingone market in Pemba leaves woman injured

On Wednesday morning, around 11:02, a motorcycle accident occurred near the Gingone Market in the city of Pemba, in Cabo Delgado, northern Mozambique, involving a young man and a woman, whose details have not yet been confirmed.

According to witnesses, the woman, approximately 30 years old, was crossing the road, leaving the Fish Market and heading toward the Mangueira bus stop, next to the airport, when she was hit by the young man who was heading toward the city.

After the accident, the motorcyclist attempted to flee the scene but was detained by locals until the arrival of the Mozambique Republic Police (PRM), who quickly intervened and arrested the suspect.

Alfredo João, one of the witnesses to the incident, reported that the victim sustained injuries to her right leg and elbow, which were the areas she fell on after the impact.

Unfortunately, it was not possible to interview the victim, as she had already been taken by the PRM to the 2nd precinct for necessary care and to file the police report.

The police are continuing their investigation to determine the exact circumstances of the accident and the responsibilities involved. (Sifa Artur)
