Mozambique — ETT Movement Alert Report 137 — Ancuabe, Chiure and Muidumbe attacks (20 July - 03 August 2025
Between 20 July - 03 August 2025, escalating attacks and heightened fear of violence by Non-State Armed Groups (NSAGs) in Muidumbe, Ancuabe and Chiure districts led to the displacement of approximately 57,034 individuals (13,343 families) as of 03 August 2025. This figure includes 2,310 individuals (486 families) who fled Magaia and Chitunda villages between 23 and 28 July; 2,765 individuals (554 families) who fled Nanduli Village in Ancuabe district and Micolene in Chire Velho between 23 July - 03 August 2025 and 51,959 individuals (12,303 families) who fled Nantavo in Chiure Velho (including neighboring villages) in Chiure district between 24 July and 03 August 2025.
Key informants report that food is the most urgent humanitarian need, followed by shelter and Non-Food Items (NFI).
