"Eu Sou Capaz" distributes over two thousand pairs of School Uniforms in Mecanhelas

The "Eu sou Capaz" program continues to show significant results in the education sector in Mecanhelas, located in the Niassa province of northern Mozambique.

On Wednesday, April 9, the program once again distributed school uniforms this time at Mutapiri Primary School, where a total of 2,965 pairs of uniforms were handed out.

District Administrator José Achida Assane highlighted the progress of this initiative, which aims to strengthen inclusion and fight school dropout rates among girls.

“This year, 2,965 uniforms will be distributed. We urge parents and guardians to uphold girls' right to education by combating early unions and other barriers that hinder their academic development,” said José Achida Assane.

Tomé Marcos José, Director of the District Service for Education, Youth and Technology, emphasized that this measure reflects the government's commitment to promoting an inclusive and equitable school environment.

In this district, many families face financial difficulties that often affect access to education, particularly for girls. That is why the “Eu sou Capaz” program was introduced. It is currently being implemented in 86 schools across Mecanhelas. (Mozanorte)
