Families complain of exclusion in mosquito net distribution in Mocímboa da Praia

On April 8, the distribution of mosquito nets began in Mocímboa da Praia district, located in Cabo Delgado, northern Mozambique, covering several neighborhoods such as Nanduadua, Kuliwayamba, and Kumuengue.

However, the process was not completed in all areas due to time constraints, and local authorities have stated that the distribution will resume in the following days.

While some residents voiced concerns over delays, others expressed frustration at being left off the list of beneficiaries altogether.

According to Mozanorte's reporting, many families felt excluded from the process, waiting anxiously for their turn without receiving clear information regarding the distribution.

These complaints reflect growing frustration among community members who were expecting to receive the free mosquito nets an essential tool in the prevention of mosquito-borne diseases.

The affected families are calling for more effective planning to ensure a fair and inclusive distribution process.

Local authorities, after being made aware of the complaints, have pledged to improve the inclusivity of the ongoing distribution.
