The lack of funds is hindering the progress of
the future building of the Insaca Municipal Council in Mecanhelas, in the
northern Niassa Province of the country.
The construction, which started in October of
last year, was expected to be completed in the same month this year but has
been halted due to the lack of funding. This was confirmed by the President of
the Municipal Council, Damião Lissimba.
"It is at an advanced stage, but due to the
lack of disbursement, it has been stopped, and we are waiting to move forward this
year," explained the mayor.
So far, in terms of progress, the foundation and
perimeter wall have been completed.
The project for the construction of the Insaca
Municipal Council building is budgeted at more than 16 million 900 thousand
meticais.
Currently, the Municipal Council of Insaca
operates temporarily in the district's guesthouse, while the Assembly is
accommodated in the District Secretary's office, and the mayor resides in his
private home. (Jaime
