A door opens to technical training for 150 girls in Marrupa

Training for 150 girls in various technical and vocational courses officially began this Thursday in Marrupa District, marking a significant step forward in youth empowerment and gender equality in the region.

The training covers practical areas such as cooking, sewing and tailoring, computer skills, electrical installation, makeup and nail care, refrigeration and air conditioning, metalwork, and plumbing. This diverse range of courses is designed to meet both local and national market needs, equipping the participants for self-employment and professional integration.

During the opening ceremony, Marrupa District Administrator, Luísa Calima, emphasized the transformative role of technical and vocational education in reducing youth unemployment. "We want these young women not only to gain technical knowledge but also to turn those skills into real opportunities for income generation and financial independence," she stated.

The initiative is led by the Associação Coalizão in partnership with the Centro de Treinamento Bancário, under the project My Decision, My Future. Running over a period of three months, the program focuses not only on technical training but also on life skills and personal development.

"The training represents a strategic investment in the potential of Marrupa’s young women, aiming to open doors to a brighter, more inclusive and sustainable future," concluded participants at the launch event. (Mozanorte)
